CSE 262 Class Paper Summaries (Spring 2007)

Keeping a record of the papers you read is a good practice, and will help prepare you for the research exam, and save time when you need to quickly locate or re-read a paper.

In addition to summarizing the basic facts, your writeup should

  • discuss the contributions of the paper, reflecting, analyzing or criticizing the ideas presented
  • offer insight into the authors' motivation
  • explore open issues or ideas that you are wondering about after reading the paper
  • Also see How to Read a Research Paper with contributions from Bill Griswold, Gail Murphy, Cristina Conati, Erica Melis.
