Announcements

• New hint added for part 2 of project 3 (regarding locking and inverted page table).
• Grading of project 2 is done. All groups clearly worked hard on their projects and got it working, more or less. Also, all documentation was acceptable, although some better than others. The final grades were based on tests that we ran (see proj2 page for all the coff tests). There were three possibilities: test passed, test failed: -1 point, test caused OS to crash: -2 points.

  Note also that there's a new solution to project 2 that causes it to pass all the tests (it originally failed a couple). One of the tests verified you could run an app that didn't end in .coff. Since the exec docs were ambiguous, I've given your group a point back if you failed that test

• Since we spent so much time on Memory last Thursday, I've re-arranged the schedule for the rest of the quarter. Check the schedule page for more info (includes later deadlines for remaining homeworks).
• I've added some test .coff files to help you test the bullet-proofing your kernel should do against user applications. See the project 2 page for more details.

• Since the schedule said that the deadlock and CPU Scheduling homeworks were due at 11:59 tonight, I've changed the due dates in Gradiance to match.

• The due dates for the first homework assignments have changed. Rather than being due on the same day as project 1, they're due right before the midterm. Also, the due date for project 3 is now on the website: it's at noon on the Saturday following the final. We'll have group meetings with each team that afternoon.

• We have new directions for getting Eclipse working with Subversion and Nachos. Follow the directions and it should work. If not, post to the webboard.
