Facilities, Lab and Equipment Technician
Responsible for hardware management of computing resources. Manages the department electronics shop with responsibility for purchasing and vendor selection of computer and electronic hardware. Advises on feasibility of electronic solutions and provides alternate viable solutions. Supervises lab assistants in instructional computing and research labs. Schedules and performs lab hardware upgrades and maintenance. Responsible for analyzing problems and determining corrective solutions involving complex electronic computing systems and networking equipment, completing repairs and/or modifications of existing equipment. Also responsible for high-level facilities planning as it relates to the department computing and electronic resources (in instructional and computer labs, academic and administrative offices), ensuring laboratory security and overall departmental safety.
