Course Description: The course will cover a variety of topics lying at the intersection of databases and artificial intelligence. Possible topics include reasoning about knowledge; logic and complexity: logic and probability (O/1 laws); logic programming for databases representing and handling negative, incomplete, and indefinite (disjunctive) information; deductive databases; logic databases; "smart" query Systems. (S/U grades permitted.)
Prerequisites: Consent of instructor.
