CSE143 - Microelectronic System Design
Units: 4
Course Objectives: This course gives an introduction to microelectronic system design. There is a design project using computer aided design tools.
Course Description: VLSI process technologies; circuit characterization; logic design styles; clocking strategies; computer-aided design tools; subsystem design; design case studies. System design project from hardware description, logic synthesis, physical layout to design verification.
Format: 3 hours of lecture per week, 1 hour discussion section per week, 4 hours of computer lab, and 4 hours of preparation.
Prerequisites: CSE 140, CSE 141
Other restrictions: Majors only.
