Each moment in my life ...

I was born on Mar. 27, 1978 ...

Happy childhood in Taipei and Hualien

I loved to play the piano when I was an elementary school student. I was also a member of the School Orchestra at that time.

I got the admission from Taipei Municipal First Girls' Senior High School (TFG)  through recommendation (without attending the Joint Entrance Examination).

A happy senior-high-school student in TFG ...

I cut my hair like a little boy for the first time ...

I was a member of the 30-year-old Marching Band and Honor Guards of TFG, and played the Tenor Saxophone in the band. Here are some pictures ...

Then I got admission through recommendation into the department of Computer Science & Information Engineering at National Taiwan University. That was really the most wonderful day in my life when I knew this news. I realized that I was able to have the chance to enjoy the wonderful world of computers, and my colorful college life ...

I joined the National Taiwan University Symphony Orchestra in my freshman year, and then joined the NTU Table Tennis team in my Sophomore year. I became the captain of this team in my senior year, and led the team to win the 7th place in National College Tournament of Woman's Table Tennis.

These are all team members in my senior year.

Besides, I was the Academic Manager of the Student Council in the Computer Science Department in my junior year. I organized the NTU Info Week Festival at that time. Through the teamwork, we successfully gained auspices from more then five sponsors for the festival. It was the most grand-scale Info Week Festival in the recent years. And, I was also a volunteer in Taipei Family Helper of Chinese Children Fund (C.C.F.) in my junior year.

During 1999-2000 I was a Teaching Assistant in the Computer Science at National Taiwan University, for courses such as Operating Systems and Algorithms. I was also the Administrator of the Intel Lab.

During 2000-2002 I was a graduate student in Computing Science at Simon Fraser University in Canada. My research area was cognitive science and my supervisor was Professor Bob Hadley. Vancouver is one of the most wonderful places to live in the world! I like Vancouver very much.

Then I moved to San Diego in the end of year 2005 to start my postdoc research at UCSD. I work with Professor Gary Cottrell.

In San Diego, I finally met the person who has changed my life completely - Antoni Chan (this is the professional part of him and this is the funny part of him - sorry if it is a bit nerdy! :P) I never thought I could be so happy before. :) We are now engaged.
