Dissatisfied with your Dell Latitude D600's keyboard? Is it not stiff enough? Does it rattle when you type? Do some keys rattle more than others? Does it bounce? Do you want to fix it?

It turns out that it's because there isn't enough support underneath the keyboard to make the keyboard stable when you hit a key. In my case, the left side was pretty nice and stiff, but the right side of the keyboard would tend to rattle.

Here's a little surgery I did on my machine. It basically involves putting some support material underneath the keyboard.

Note that you perform these operations at your own risk. It could void your warranty, or if you're clumsy, you could damage your machine. If you use the wrong materials inside, it's feasible your laptop could catch on fire.

Start by laying the laptop flat like I have here.
